Known for her quick wit and energetic presentation style – motivational speaker and trainer, Paula McCraney, lives her life with the understanding that to whom much is given much is required. Paula is CEO of P Mc & Associates (Professional Management Consultants). P Mc & Associates is a performance consulting company that provides advice, leadership and value-added assistance in the areas of human resources management, organizational change, personal and professional training and development, strategic planning, marketing and public relations. In 2011, Paula opened another business - a one-of-a-kind specialty boutique store named The Traveling Boutique. Her boutique specializes in custom made and designer-like costume jewelry, scarves, shoes, clothing and designer purses. She is fast becoming known for her hat embellishment and custom designed fascinators. She has some VERY BEAUTIFUL and unique must-see pieces! In 2018, Paula moved the Boutique to historic Frankfort Ave., and renamed it Paula’s Boutique. Paula is a skilled workshop facilitator and speaks nationally to corporations and for women’s retreats, conferences, corporate strategic planning sessions and non-profit civic organizations. She has given high-impact presentations to LG&E, AEGON, Spalding University, the University of Louisville, Greater Louisville Inc., the Kentucky County Clerk’s Association, and many other businesses, non-profit organizations and churches. Paula earned a Master's degree from Webster University's School of Business and Technology in Management and Leadership. She is also a graduate of Oklahoma State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She is a graduate of Focus Louisville, a graduate of Leadership Louisville (Class of 1999), and is a Bingham Fellow (Class of 2001). In 2009, Paula was selected to participate as a Courier-Journal Newspaper Forum Fellow. Paula is a 24-year resident of St. Matthews - a suburb of Greater Metro Louisville, Kentucky, and is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Paula is passionate about her community and giving back to it. She has served as President of the Windhurst Acres Subdivision Neighborhood Association and President of Business and Professional Women/River City. She served several years on the board of the Voter Outreach Program, and is currently a board member of the Citizens Commission on Police Accountability, and the Tax Assessment Appeals Board. Ms. McCraney has been recognized with leadership awards from numerous organizations, including the United States Congress, the Senate of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the Louisville Metro Council - District 7, to name a few. In 2007 and 2008, Paula was featured as "Influential" in the highly-acclaimed publication "Who's Who in Louisville." In subsequent years she is featured in the publication as a successful entrepreneur. She is an honorary captain of the Belle of Louisville and a Kentucky Colonel. Paula is a former parent representative on the Ballard High School and Greathouse Elementary School Site Based Decision Making Council (SBDM). She is a former board member of the Workforce Investment Board (Kentuckiana Works), Metro United Way Community Investment Team, and Public Relations Society of America. She served on the Advisory Board for the Louisville Urban League Young Professionals, and volunteered several years as a JCPS Volunteer Mentor. For pure fun (and she is a very fun-loving person), Paula is Queen Mother of the Diamond and Pearl Divas Chapter of the Red Hat Society! From 2003-2010, Paula served faithfully as the Director of the Women’s Ministry at the 10,000-member St. Stephen Church in Louisville, KY. In 2010, the senior pastor of the church appointed Paula to direct a 2-month - $400,000 stewardship campaign. According to a report given by the pastor two weeks after the campaign, Paula was instrumental in leading the church to successfully surpass the goal, raising $473,000. Paula served several years as Minister of Generosity at St. Stephen Church, and in March of 2018, she was licensed to preach the Gospel by her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Kevin W. Cosby. Paula was recruited to Louisville by PNC Bank in 1990. For ten years Paula climbed the corporate ladder in the banking industry, ascending to the rank of Vice President. She left the banking industry and later enjoyed a successful eight-year government career as the public relations director and spokesperson for the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office and Board of Elections. While at the Clerk's Office, Paula transformed the agency into a customer-focused, award-winning government agency through her energetic training classes and introduction of a concept called "Positive Discipline." She was recognized in Business First Newspaper for the "Positive Discipline" program, and credited by the County Clerk for bringing innovative ideas and top-notch customer service policies and training to the Clerk's Office. In December 2006, Paula was heavily recruited by the then newly-elected Jefferson County Circuit Court Clerk. After careful consideration, Paula accepted the appointment to Chief Deputy of the Public Affairs, Human Resources and Community Outreach Divisions. After only two months in her new career, the Circuit Court Clerk promoted her to the title of Chief Administrative Officer. Paula's contributions at the Court Clerk's Office included the creation of the first-ever Supervisory Skills training classes (lovingly known as the Leadership Institute), the first-ever internal job posting policy, and a host of human resource policies and procedures that contributed to the reduction in staff turnover and the hiring of top-notch personnel. Paula was instrumental in designing the agency's employee discipline policy and training manual. She trained the Circuit Court Clerk, all Chief Deputies and Supervisors on the policy, along with coaching, conducting performance improvement plans, how to properly document discipline and other challenging supervisory skills. Ms. McCraney's career at the Circuit Court Clerk's Office ended in July 2007. In Paula's role as a public speaker, she travels often and speaks freely of God’s grace as she prompts her audiences to look beyond their circumstances to experience God’s grace in the midst of adversity. Paula’s testimony will speak to your heart in a powerful way. In transparent fashion, she shares how God has gone before her throughout her life to manifest His good and perfect plan. She encourages everyone she encounters to remember that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. Paula is a self-proclaimed Proverbs 31 woman, and is passionate for God and driven by the will of God. Paula loves all things pink and green (her sorority colors!), and enjoys being with her family. She enjoys traveling, collecting China, tea cups, and red hats. She delights in hosting tea parties, being a "big sister" to numerous young adults, and reigning as the Queen of the Diamond and Pearl Divas Red Hat Society. Paula is happily married 32 years to Billy McCraney, and is very proud of their two sons, Dominic and Terrance, graduates of the University of Kentucky and Northern Kentucky University, respectively.
